A former model and currently an actress, Udita Goswami has established herself as a bold and sensuous heroine. Nine years into the industry, she has managed to carve a place for herself in Bollywood with her variety roles in different films.
Udita was born on 9th February 1984 in the beautiful city of Dehradun, Uttarakhand which is also her father’s native place. Her mother hails from Shillong, and that is how she inherited the somewhat North-East Indian looks.
The actress began her career as a model and endorsed brands like Pepsi, Nokia and Titan watches. She then decided to try her luck in Bollywood. Her first break was in 2004, when she appeared in Pooja Bhatt-directed film ‘Paap’ opposite John Abraham. She played the role of a young woman who wants to join a Buddhist monastery, but is messed up in a police case. The film was not a commercial success, but garnered positive responses from critics.
Udita Goswami’s next film was ‘Zeher’, alongside Emraan Hashmi and Shamita Shetty. She played a woman who cheats her husband and dupes another man to get money from the insurance company. The film did not perform well, but gained popularity due to the chartbuster tracks.
Her subsequent films, ‘Aksar’ and ‘Aggar’ saw her playing bold characters with dark shades. Neither of these films were box-office successes, yet, they got noticed for their soundtracks.
