Prachi Desai is an actress who has been successful both in television industry and in Bollywood. Born on 12th September 1988 in Surat (Gujarat) she completed her studies in Surat and Pune. Throughout her student life, she was a brilliant student, and received many prizes in dancing and acting contests.
While in Pune, Prachi attended a modeling workshop. Her pictures were sent to Balaji Telefilms and she got selected for the role of ‘Bani Walia’ in ‘Kasamh Se’. She was just 17 when she tasted amazing success for her character.
Prachi was also seen in other television programmes like ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ and dancing reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, which she won with her choreographer Deepak Singh. Prachi also endorses products like Active Wheel, Sofy, Goa Tourism, Neutrogena and Gili Signature Diamond Jewellery.
Prachi then moved to the Hindi Film industry, and her first film was ‘Rock On!!’ where she was seen as the spouse of Farhan Akhtar. The film was critically acclaimed, and went on to win the National Award for the Best Feature Film in Hindi. Thereafter, she starred in ‘Life Partner’ opposite Tusshar Kapoor, but the film didn’t do well.
In 2010, Prachi was seen playing the role of the muse of Emraan Hashmi in ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaii’. The film was a hit, and won Prachi several reputed awards. Currently, she is working in ‘Main… Joker’ opposite Rajeev Khandelwal, ‘Bol Bachchan’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan and an untitled film with John Abraham. She might also be a part of ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ along with Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
