Born on 21st September, 1980, Kareena aka Bebo is the daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and the younger sister of actress Karishma Kapoor. She made her acting debut in 2000 with the movie Refugee, which won her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
She then appeared in a series of films like Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai, Ajnabee, Asoka, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which fared well at the box office and earned her major nominations.
In 2004, Kareena played a prostitute in “Chameli”, which earned her the Filmfare Special Performance Award. She also won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for brilliantly enacting a Muslim girl named Aliya in “Dev”. Although her films like Yuva, Fida, Bewafaa etc. didn’t do well, others like Aitraaz, Hulchul, and Omkara were well-accepted. The last one particularly was a “new benchmark” in her career.
