Bipasha Basu on roll for ‘Shaukeen’ remake

This is an era of remakes. Following the trend, director Rohit Roy is all set to remake the 80’s sex comedy ‘Shaukeen’ which starred Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and A.K. Hangal as the three old men who try to woo a young girl (Rati Agnihotri). Directed by Basu Chatterjee, the movie had Mithun Chakrborty playing Rati’s boyfriend.
For the role played by Rati, Rohit Roy has approached Bipasha Basu who has accepted the offer.
“Bipasha loved the script and agreed to do the film… But can’t confirm when we go on floors as the casting is still in progress,” tweeted Rohit Roy.
Meanwhile, the actress is in London to shoot the last schedule of her debut international project Singularity.
“Living in London is dangerous! Desserts here are to die for and constantly tempting me! Scones and clotted cream and now Eaton mess is messing me up,” tweeted Bipasha.

Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu in Greece, Kareena gets worried for her man

Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu both are in Greece these days for the shooting of the film ‘Race 2’. The former flame of Saif Ali Khan Bips is there just to chill with her friends, her shooting will start when the unit will leave for Istanbul. The news shook the Bebo fully and she is now taking time out to land in the place to monitor her man’s activities and be with him.

Well, they say that it is the nature of a man that he instantly attracts to the other women and the ladies know it well which is why they keep on protecting their men from other evils (women) in society. Kareena too is well aware of her man whose link ups keep on rocking every now and then.

The sources tell that Kareena will shortly leave for Greece where Saif Ali Khan is filming for his movie Race 2. Bipasha Basu is there with her close friends to have good vacations and to spend time with Saif Ali Khan. It is her holiday trip. The unit will then leave for Istanbul where the next leg of 40 days shoot will take place, Bipasha is scheduled to begin shooting in Istanbul.

Kareena Kapoor is currently busy with Heroine’s shooting and some brand endorsements. Once she gets the free time, she will fly down to Greece to be with her Saifu. The fact also remains when the shooting of Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Cocktail was going on in London, their link up stories started making the rounds. The worried Kareena took the first flight to London and stayed with Saif. It has also been learnt that she will keep dropping by in Greece and Istanbul every 15 days till the shooting wraps up to monitor her man.

Bipasha Basu’s gesture of love for her parents

Bipasha Basu has spent a large chunk of her life living alone away from her family, but now the actress finally gets to live with her family around her. Bips recently gifted a spacious 3BHK flat in Bandra to her parents. Her residence is just a few minutes away from this flat. Her elder sister Bidisha too stays closeby with her family.
An all elated Bipasha says, “Two weeks ago, we did the Satyanarayan and Grihapravesh pujas, after which they shifted into the new flat. The interiors have been designed by Ehsan Qureshi and Rajeev Acharya, who have also done up my home. My parents now live just five minutes away from Bidisha and me,” adding, “I’ve lived alone since I was 16! In 2005, I surprised my mother with a fully furnished house. My parents shifted to Mumbai from Kolkata as as my younger sister Bijoyeta wanted to study here.”
“I am very happy! Though dad’s base is still in Kolkata and he keeps flying in and out of Mumbai, now my entire family lives very close to me,” she says expressing her happiness.

Mumbai: Bipasha Basu’s dream of having her entire family close to her in Mumbai has come true. Yes, she has bought a lavish flat in Bandra for her parents. The 3BHK flat situated in Bandra is just five minutes drive away from Bipasha’s own home. Bipasha’s elder sister Bidisha too lives much close to Bipasha with her family. Now the entire family is with her and she is at cloud nine seeing her dream come true.
Bipasha, in an interview, says that around two week back she had Satyanarayan and Grihapravesh Pujas at the new flat and now her family has shifted to this place. She also reveals that the eye-pleasing interiors of the flat were done by Ehsan Qureshi and Rajeev Acharya, who have previously done the interiors for Bips’ own home. She excitedly utters that her family now lives just five minutes’ drive from her.
When asked why her parents were living in Juhu-Versova area previously before shifting to this flat? She responds that she has been livi9ng alone since the age of 16 and she made their family surprised with an utter furnished residence in 2005. She further told that her family shifted from Kolkata to Mumbai since her little sister wanted to be educated in Mumbai.
The thrilled Bipasha says that she is quite happy that her entire family is with her but her father does not live permanently with them because of his business based in Kolkata. He flies in and out of the city. Bipasha recently faced a flop in shape of Abbas-Mustan’s Players. The film was expected to hit the hearts and box office but everything got shattered when the movie turned a big flop. Her Jodi Breakers too went flop opposite R. Madhavan. Well, she is now eying next and adamant for success. She has been in the industry since long and still is loved by her fans.

Mumbai, Wednesday 15th of February 2012 (BSNS) It has been more than a year since John and Bipasha called it quits on their eight-year old relationship, however, the actress who recently shared her thoughts on love confessed that she is believer in eternal love.

Waiting for her knight in shining armor, Bipasha stated, "I am a fairytale believer - a charming prince coming and sweeping me off my feet. I believe in eternal love and romance. I belong to the category of singles and am waiting for a soul mate. But I am waiting for him to find me because I don't have time."

Bipasha is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Jodi Breakers and is also working on her bold film ' Raaz 3'. The actress recently admitted that kissing onscreen makes her nervous.

More importantly, she even admitted that she had a tough time doing the kissing scene in her next release, the romantic comedy Jodi Breakers.

"I had to kiss him, it was important for the film, so there was no convincing that was required. I knew I would do it but the process is not easy, " said Bipasha.

However, she also said in a statement that it wouldnt be easy for her to lock lips in her bold movie Raaz 3.

'Jodi Breakers ' would be the first film in which Bipasha and Madhavan will be playing a couple onscreen. Bipasha who gave more insights about her kissing scene in the film revealed that though she has inhibitions, she would do it if her role demands it.

Actress Bipasha Basu has vowed never to discuss her personal life in public again after her break-up with John Abraham created headlines. Bipasha, who dated John for nine years after meeting on the sets of "Jism", parted ways last year.


The couple had been very open about their relationship but the intense media focus on their split has made Bipasha wary of going public with her romantic life again.


"If I really fall in love again I would not talk about it. It becomes dirty towards the end and the outsiders make it so. Nine years of your life cannot be treated as a joke. For people it is just an interesting read," Bipasha told PTI in an interview.


"They expect that if you have had a break-up you have to look like a disaster and die. People think if you don't become dramatic and ask for sympathy then you are a bad person. They should stop judging me. But I am ok with it now, it doesn't affect me anymore," she added.


The 33-year-old actress has been linked to her co-stars constantly post her split but she rubbished rumours that she is dating anyone.


"People can't digest the fact that I am single. The stories are way too bizarre for me to understand. People link me up instantly and declare a break-up as well but it is not possible. I am not saying that I am a nun but it's not possible I will fall in love in a day. I do go out for dates but that doesn't mean I am in a relationship," she said.


While she is struggling to strike a balance between her public and private persona, Bipasha is also gearing up for the release of her new film "Jodi Breakers" where she plays a woman whose profession is to help couples separate.


The Bong beauty is all praise for her first time co-star R Madhvan in the film and says that she was the one who suggested his name.

"I was the one who suggested Madhavan's name for the film. When I was asked by the producers whom do I see as my lead actor I said Madhavan and luckily they took my word seriously and got him on board. He is a wonderful guy and a great co-star to work with," she added.


The film, a romantic comedy directed by Ashwini Chaudhary, will hit the theatres on February 24.
After being in the industry for more than a decade, Bipasha says there is an immense sense of pride in her that she has made it so far without a Godfather.

The actress has given hits like " Raaz", "Jism", "No Entry" and "Dum Maro Dum". "There is an immense sense of pride that I made it without a Godfather in the industry. Right from day one I
never did anything that I didn't want to do. I have been very strong on my principles. My priorities have always remained the same.


"I don't believe that films define me. It's just a profession I am in and I love it but their is more to me
beside this. I like to live the way I want to rather than by the rules of the industry." Bipasha says that people in the industry had a different perception about her when she stepped into Bollywood.


"When I started off I was called a bohemian... I don't know why? But for me that was a normal way of living. I like to spend time with my friends and travel. It was not that I was irresponsible about my work but it's just that I like to balance it out," Bipasha said. PTI

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu, who ended her nine-year relationship with actor John Abraham last year, says she is currently single as she has no time to date.


The 33-year-old model-turned-actress has been busy lately with back-to-back releases. Beginning the year with 'Players', she is now looking forward to the release of 'Jodi Breakers' this Friday.


"Right now anyone who will date me, will be in trouble. Because I don't have a single minute for anybody," Bipasha said to a fan while chatting via Airtel Talk2Me. To another caller, Bipasha dished out some advice on how to become an actress.


"Becoming an actress is not an easy job. It needs a lot of talent, hard work and luck... You must have a lot of patience. Moreover its always beneficial if you know somebody in the business. You must not feel defeated ever in this field," she said. PTI
