Los Angeles: Mallika Sherawat, who is termed sex goddess in Bollywood industry and even the Hollywood fraternity and international media too coin the same term for this dusky-curvy damsel, has come up for the support of homosexuals. In Hollywood, we often witness the support from almost the entire Hollywood industry for the gays (homosexuals). This is because that this thing has penetrated into their culture and they are the part of this system. Every other Hollywood celeb announce his/her sexuality as gay every other day – many have turned to homosexuality and a lot are turning. US states are making the gays’ marriage legal. Hollywood celebs are people from other walks of life support gays thoroughly. Thus homosexuality is common and practiced there utterly. But in India, it is still a taboo and the society does not like it at all. But still the voice in support of the gays has started echoing in Bollywood industry.The likes of Hrithik Roshan, Sonam Kapoor, Celina Jaitley and Gul Panag have raised their vocals in support of gays’ rights. Now Mallika Sherawat has come up to use her celebrity status to raise her voice for the LGBT community.
She has recently done a campaign (NOH8) demanding the equality for the homosexuals. She strongly lends her hand for the support of gay community. She says in an interview that there should not be any discrimination. Sherawat returned to Los Angeles after filming the item song ‘Laila’ for Priyadarshan’s Tezz and shooting the film ‘Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli’ in which she plays the main lead.
She is now going to throw a lavish party for the engagement of her best gay friends – Rick Ferrari and his fiancé Alex at beach house in Malibu. She says the bash would be a big fun. Mallika is still struggling to get big Bollywood projects even she has done international movies and quite famous in Hollywood.
